I do my daily training and speedwork in a light neutral shoe (Asics Speedstar) because they don't fight my feet. (I'm a retired ballet dancer with VERY high rigid arches and I barely pronate as is evident by the outside sole of my shoe getting worn to nothing). Anyway, I worry about doing 20+ miles in a shoe with so little cushioning because the balls of my feet tecan get sore and wonder if I should do my long runs in a neutral cushion to prevent capsulitis or plantar plate issues. My long winded question is which do I wear on race day? The light weight shoes I run the most in or the cushioned because of the distance?
