My 20-miler

Tim and Rita - once again thank you! I LOVE racing - half-marathons and marathons are my favorite distances - not that I've done many of either. I wanted to let you know that I did a 20-miler yesterday (had PERFECT weather) and felt GREAT! I mean.. miles 15-16 were tough - but then it was fine. I could've gone farther. My only frustration is that I took it so slow. I started out at a close to 10-min mile and then tried to increase to a 9-min mile.. ended up doing closer to 9.30 avg. I didn't push myself at all - just stayed really loose - I didn't want to end up not finishing or injuring myself. I feel like I'll be fine for the marathon now... I'll just have to settle for slower than I like I think. Any tips on driving after a marathon? I'm going to have to drive home from DC to NYC (about 4 1/2 hours) after running the marathon.. and when I sit after a long run my legs get alot of pain. Any ideas for easing it? Ang
