Hi Ang,

Congratulations on BQing at Philly. A close friend from my local running club did that one this past fall. Since we know you are heading to Boston and since we know the 2010 race is sold out, I might suggest you check out a race Boston has in May, called Rememberance Run, Run to Remember, something like that. I think it's a half. Check out if any of that course overlaps with Boston. Even if it does not, I think the experience of flying there once would be good logisictally (which flights you perfer, which hotel; remember they will sell out fast for 2011). Think of it like a good practice for where you're headed next!!

Your story was one I could relate to, because I was recently doing that last big 20+ miler 3 weeks before the race, and a nasty cold front moved in. The temperature was dropping, with a cold driving rain. As much as I disliked the idea of "bagging it", I liked the idea of pneumonia even less. I did fine, and life went on.

These days I try to do 2 marathons a year. Miami is my local race, and it is basically good. I have done "road" marathons in Buffalo (orig. home), Ottawa, Eugene, and Portland. I liked them all, for different reasons. I haven't picked my next one yet, but I'm leaning towards Buffalo. Good luck in your race, and have fun! Tim
