Take a look at some training plans. use Zeke's advice and try a half marathon plan. You could look at HalHigdon.com for plans. If you can fit the training into your life and find you enjoy it you can run the half and after that go for the full. You have enough time to get your mileage into a reasonable range if you are thinking of a full next January.
Training take time. How much depends on how serious you want to be about it. Some people find they have to force themselves to run, they need to find a different sport... enjoy your life. Report back. -Rita
