Here is my advice: first, try to substantiate your love and/or aptitude for distance running. It's very possible this kind of training commitment may not appeal to you.
How can you find out? Set your sights on a half- marathon. That race distance will be plenty hard enough for a first-timer to prepare for. Based on how you feel after running the half, you'll know for sure whether scaling up to marathon distance will be in your best interests.
No matter what you decide, have fun finding out!
