why does my back get tired sometimes?

I just started training for the 1/2 marathon coming up in NYC and it is my first. I have always been active from dancing, karate, track, and soccer. I played soccer in college and then took 3 years off for grad school. I just picked up running again and I am having this annoying tiredness in my back sometimes when I run. It doesn't always happen. My body, legs, and breathing feels great like I can go on but my back is almost giving in to where the pain is too much to take. I sometimes have to stop because it feels so heavy. I might not be explaining my situation enough but curious if anyones does understand or has experienced this back pain while running before. Am I not eating or drinking enough of something or do I have a serious back issue coming on?
