I've been trying to chase a marathon off of my bucket list for a coupla years now. I'm 49. I ran a half in 2007. Last Jan. I quit smoking and started a slow milage buildup, but in Sept at 60 miles a week and a long run of 20 my sore knee ran me off the road. I laid off for 2 months but when I tried to run 300 yards I limped for a week. Today I was diagnosed with bipartite patella. The doctor is trying to determine if it's the problem or if it's meniscus. Is anyone familiar with this problem and do you think there is hope to continue running.
