long run vs. weekly mileage

My training plan for the week got snafued and I had other commitments making it impossible to run for 3 days. I had a scheduled long run on Sunday (lets say 10 miles) but my weekly mileage was supposed to be around 24.

Here's my question: Is it more important to get the long run in, and take a 'rest day' the next day or should I skip the long run and run smaller distances over the next few days to get close to the target milage for the week?

Its relatively early in the training plan.

Thanks for the help!
