I agree with running the 10 miles. My other suggestion as to when you miss days; I suggest running twice in a day. If you can run 10 miles and are averaging 3-5 on other days, I would suggest getting a morning run in as well as an evening run as it is a great way to get in milage without often having the soreness of long (relative to what you normally run) runs back to back to catch up on miles.
