What kind of total mileage are you running? Lots of people think your long run should be no more than 25% of your total weekly mileage. Which would mean that for anything greater than 20 miles you would have to be running more than 100 miles per week. I've done 20 milers on as little as 50 miles per week and it REALLY drains me... Whatever you decide, take it slow, hydrate well and refuel right after... then let us know how it went, both the long run and the marathon.
