I am training for my first marathon on Thanksgiving Day in Atlanta and am following the RunnersWorld Firt Time Marathoner's schedule. I have been a runner for a long time and always ran between 4-6 miles at lunch but these long runs are killing me. I had an 11 miler Saturday that my body basically started locking up on me aroun mile 8. I couldn't run until middle of the day and it was 88 degrees with 93% humidity. I only had one water stop. I REALLY need some motivation now because I had to walk the last 2 miles. Is it me or the conditions that I was running? Anyone else had such experiences?
