I have also had a problem with blood in the urine. This is called Hematuria, which basically means, blood in the urine. My problem occured about 5 months ago after a hard treadmill run. It cleared up after I peed about 3 times. Then it happened after a treadmill run a month and a half later. Again, it cleared up after peeing a few times. Last week I ran on the treadmill 4 times, each time was either 4 miles, or 8 miles. Each time, I peed blood one time after the run, and then my urine was completely clear. I ran a bit over 19 miles on Sunday outside, and no blood in the urine. This week I also have had blood in the urine after my treadmill runs only. It looks to me like the jostling of the treadmill is causing my problem, but I will probably go to a urologist to have it checked out anyway. For the originator of this thread, I have done extensive research on this, and if this is not a recurring problem, I would probably not be overly concerned. Hematuria is a common problem for long distance runners. That being said, I would never recommend against having a doctor check it out anyway.
