I ran a marathon when my daughter was 11 months old. I was nursing at the time, and traveled to the race (without the baby) the day before. Thinking I was very clever, I threw my breast pump into my suitcase...only to discover that I was missing the bottle (therefore the suction) part. By the time I finished the race I had the Dolly Parton thing going on — but I finished! When I got home she resumed nursing as if nothing ever happened!
