I know that in america's large cities there are plenty of runners but what about the countryside. I mean I live an hours drive from Seattle so several times a year I go in, visit running stores, run, etc. But in my city, rural area, farms but also. . plenty of people pushing in. 30K peole in surrounding area so not small( I'll get to the point). I am the only serious runner I see on the trails here. Everyone is fat,and out of shape even tho a ski resort is only an hours drive away no ski shops, one snowboard shop. No running stores, but four supermarkets, but when I asked if any of them had cliff shots etc. they looked at me as if I just arrived from Mars. So is this the same in every small town? Is America really this out of shape? Do you have the same experience?
