At a crowded shopping mall parking lot you will see people parking in the fire lane or waiting for people to pull out of a spot that is close to the entrance rather than immmediately park 50 - 100 yards away and walk the rest of the way. So if this amount of distance is too much it isn't surprising that there are a lot of people in less than excellent physical condition. I always get a kick out of the drivers who let off a passenger in front of a grocery store and sit and wait with their car running right near the front doors. Even though it is clearly marked as no parking/fire lane. Apparently there are many people who feel the rules don't apply to them.
