Health Issue
Old Guy half or full

What should I do? I have done 3 marathons this year, but I need to slow down for health reasons. Doc said no more marathons, fewer miles per week, and limited heart rate bpm. I am thinking of only doing half-marathons and going slow, but I think I can do the full 26.2 and just keep it slow. I think doc is being ultra-conservative and that I can do fine if I take it easy. I love the marathon and it is part of who I am. But we don't want to be picking the old guy up during a run. Should I continue to try to convince doc (and my wife) that it is safe to run 26.2, or just go for the 13.1 and forget the past?
