Coming back from illness

What would all do - I did 2 half-marathons back to back Thanksgiving weekend and then became ill (caught a virus from my child, that took me out for 2 months) Just started back running and feel fantastic. Did use that time to lose some weight as well. But I am signed up for the Myrtle Beach Marathon. I am trying to do a marathon in every state and don't want to switch to half if I am going to go out of town to do this. Should I just use my true grit and run/walk galloway style the race. Probably won't be that bad right. I saw on the boards that it is a walker friendly race. I was encouraged that the course was open for 8 hours. Should I just go for it. I vowed last year not to miss any more races that I had signed up for.
