I work nights in an ICU. There is no hospital cafeteria available at nights, so most of the nurses order takeout.I have to pack lunches to aviod high fat foods, which are the only thing available with most takeout orders. I need high carbs, low fat, good fiber intake, and moderate protein. I'm sick of tuna fish, trail mix and fruit!!! Any suggestions for new food ideas? It has to be quick and easy because eating in an ICU usually involves running the kitchen for quick bites in between pushing meds and emptying containers of gross body substances! Shake mixes are usualy high in simple sugars and only cause me to crave more food about 30 min after the sugar rush is over, so they really don't work well for me.
