There's a song by Georges Brassens that says, she could have done it for money, she could have done for pleasure, she could have been poor, she could have been rich, but never could a man forget the first woman he held in his arms (...la première femme qu'on a tenue dans ses bras...).
I checked out the conditions for Big Sur (high fifties, slight chance of a shower, mist in the morning, humidity throughout the day, light winds) where Voodoo is running her first marathon. She is probably more than halfway done as we speak...
Often on this BB we read about the impressions/feelings of newbies once they've completed their first. But we never hear the stories of the 'veterans': how do you remember your first marathon?
How did you get to enter a marathon in the first place? Where you into another sport and 'evolved' into the marathon?
I would have love to read Hopkinton's story but that's no longer posible...
But what about the others?
