Hard candies okay?

I'm 18 and training for my first marathon. I've stopped eating most fatty foods and eat complex-carbos like bagels, oatmeal, wheat bread and pasta, etc.

However I also eat a lot of hard candy, and I've been doing so for a couple of years now. This includes Jolly Ranchers, Life Savers, Creme Savers, and so forth. They help me stay focused and keep me awake in class. I can often be found having 10-30 of these in a day.

I know this isn't ideal running fuel but can I still have a successful marathon program and eat these?
