During my long run yesterday I was 'debating' with myself: what's best on race day - to set a conservative goal and hope that things are going to go so well that you'll be able to pick it up and do better than the expected result? Or is it better to set a less conservative goal with the proviso that you can always slow down if things get too hard...?
