Hello,
I just ran my 5th marathon. The good news is it was the first marathon I was able to run entirely without having the "death march" for the last 6 miles.
I trained hard for this- did speed workouts and all- and hoped to improve my time to 3:30 or under. I missed my target.
Although I was slower, I think I am starting to understand how I need to fuel my body - since I had fewer cramps this time.
But I wonder, is inadequate fluid and nutrition enough to account for 20 mins slower than I want?
For the record, my times have been: 4:04, 3:48, 3:37, 3:51, 3:44
I want to try to qualify for Boston but it seems unrealistic. Is it time to reset my goals to be happy running slower? What do you think?
