Hey everyone:

I wrote out three tips that work for me on how to make it through a difficult track workout. Hope they help.

Three track workout survival tips:

1. Bribe yourself with a treat. In order to get the treat, you have to complete the workout in its entirety. In the old days, my treat was going to the bookstore later that night and buying a book.

2. Ease into the workout and ease into the repetition. If you are doing 800m repeats at 4:00, then do the first lap at something like 2:02-2:03 and crank it up in the second lap.

3. Don't become daunted by the workout and don't freak out if you can't nail your goal. Say to yourself, "One at a time." And know, going into it, that you are going to suffer and doubt yourself. Everyone has this happen to them. You are there to work hard. That's the point. A WORKout shouldn't be easy. If it is, you are probably cheating yourself.
