Hi Rita,

First, thank you for your answer. You are right, I am aware I need to run more miles per week, but my program has just started 2 months ago.

Looking ahead into my program (which I created using runners world's SmartCoach tool) I will be running 10 miles in my long runs by early june (25 miles per week) and 20 miles by the end of July (31 miles per week). So in total, I will be training about 7.5 months for this 1st marathon.

As for your answer about the pace in the long runs, if people tend to run 1 min per mile slowly, how do they manage to pick up their pace for the marathon. I mean, 1 min or so sounds like way faster to me. Am I right?

Thanks a lot again. I appreciate your help.
