when you change your shoes you're going to need to stop, sit down, take shoes 'a' off and then put on shoes 'b'... there are issues with this, first: when you stop you may decide not to get started again & you may cramp up...especially when you sit down... plus the physical act of changing shoes can require pulling & pushing in ackward positions that could encourage cramping...then putting on a pair of shoes on feet that are already beat up, swollen & maybe blistered could be ugly and then you have to stand up again & RUN..

not saying it can't be done...I ran a marathon in snowy/slushy conditions and changed my socks twice (loop course & my older son met me out there)... he had to help as the second time I could not bend over (cold enduced cramping), not fun but my feet did feel better for the next mile each time...

would I change shoes, no... but it might work for you...who is going to meet you on the course with the shoes? why not just wait till 26.3??
