I will be running my first marathon May 23,2009 in Traverse City Mi,...the Bayshore.I'm a 52yr old male with 2yrs running experience.I've ran many 5k,8k,10k races and a half last oct. at a 8:30mi pace.My ultimate goal is to qualify for Boston and to do that I need a 8:14mi pace. My question is do you feel it's a good idea to attempt this on my first try or get at least one under my belt before I go for it? Also...many times in my training I use the Jeff Galloway run-walk system and I was wondering what your opinion is of this system....would it be possible to run a 8:14mi pace using the run-walk system? Thank you so much for any help you can give me! Greg
