I became excessively enthusiastic earlier this year. I was in shape to run a half, but was registered for the full so I persisted. Then social pressure had me running a few days later, until the right knee said enough.
The diagnosis is clear. The patellar tendon is tender to the touch. It hurts from the impact of running, but I can walk reasonably comfortably. Going down stairs can be a problem but there are ways to avoid pressure on the knee.
I am seeing a physiotherapist, but progress is slow so I am interested in what has and has not worked for others. Thanks in advance for any advice.
