you know... i really preferred the runner's world book. This book had a lot of information, but I just liked the runner's world approach better for a 1st marathon.

Runner's World Complete Book of Women's Running: The Best Advice to Get Started, Stay Motivated, Lose Weight, Run Injury-Free, Be Safe, and Train for Any Distance (Runner's World Complete Books) (Paperback) by Dagny Scott Barrios (Author)

You can get it off of amazon- pretty cheap!

There is a non-runner's for women- but it is mostly a story... and wont give you any real sound advice... just someone who ran a marathon and vows never to run one again... lacked inspiration to me.

A good movie to watch, run fat boy run... made me laugh a lot... and want to run w/ beer! Yay beer mile!
