Hi, I have been running for the past 15 years and in the last 5 years doing half marathons regularly (a few times a year). I have finally decide to do my 1st marathon and I've been trying to do a more of a programmed training. I have set a total K's per week with a long run goal. However I'm only running 3 times a week. For example last week (marathon in 10 weeks), I ran 17k, 12K and 22K. I try to cross train on my days off when I can (mountain biking/swimming) and I walk a lot (30min to a an hour) a few times a week. I have planned to add a 4th day of running for 4-6 weeks before the marathon where I will be doing the highest K's (70K's total and 32-34K long runs). I've seen in most training guides they recommend running 5-6 times a week. Do I need to run more often than 3 times a week if I meet my week total and max K's? Sorry if this seems like a complicated question for a first post. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Anxious 1st timer Nona For info my marathon is the French riviera marathon that runs along the coast from Nice to Cannes.
