There are some pretty good sites/plans out there for beginners. I really like the approach Hal Higdon takes on a lot of stuff including his beginner / novice programs.

I know his absolute beginner program is probably too easy for where you are, but if you look at his beginner training programs for a 5k or 10k you might find something that suits you in terms of weekly mileage.
