I am 52 and have been running for about 5 years. Last year did a couple of half-marathons well under 2 hours. I run 20+/week and long runs of 8-10.
I am tempted to try a marathon in the fall, but a friend warn me that I could permanently hurt myself at my age trying a first marathon.
Assuming I train o.k. for the long run, what's the worst that could happen?
