Hello,
As a father of three, I was devastated when I read a recent tragic story of a 6-year old boy, Sev'n Molina, fatally beaten in a domestic disturbance. His mother, Sandra Ruiz, who fought courageously to save his life was critically injured. I could not imagine anything worst as a parent, your heart really goes out to Sandra and her family. She was a wonderful mother and would do anything for her Sev'n. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/los_angeles_metro/la-me-attack14aug14,1,5017867.story?track=rss
I shared the story with my eldest son, Nicholas, who is old enough to appreciate the tragedy. He then surprised me by suggesting that I should run a marathon (I am a runner) in memory of Sev'n. I was moved beyond words. I obliged and will run the Marine Corps Marathon on October 28 in Washington DC to celebrate the life of Sev'n. With Sandra's permission, I also hope to do my small part in raising funds on behalf of Sev'n for Finish For Kids, a combined effort between the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) and The Carefree Foundation (www.fimrc.org).
Please join me in by assisting this worthy cause: http://finishforkids.kintera.org/thomas. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible. Let's make sure Sev'n did not die in vain.
Thomas
