Ouch, it sucks to have set a goal and then have to reevaluate whether or not its really in our best interest to do or not to do it. While I can't tell you go or no go, I will tell you that I was training to do Marine Corp this year and for what ever reasons my long runs were not dialing in. I found out that this year was my year for the 5k but the marathon was not going to be a pretty sight. Sooooooo I asked myself did I really want to go and run a marathon that I wasn't in condition to run or should I reassess my goals and work on my 5k thru half races and leave the marathon alone this year. Guess you know what I decided to do by now and I don't regret it one bit. To do a marathon when you don't have the foundation for it is leaving yourself open for a whole lot of soreness and or injury. Walking 80% of it is still a long time on your feet, personally I would pick another target for your marathon debut and savor the moment when you cross the finish line after being well prepared for the task at hand. Good luck
