Hi! Sorry to hear that your training hasn't been as solid as you want it to be... but, the hard part is getting to Boston. It doesn't matter as much what happens while you're there! I know that you want to perform well and I'm sure that you will- you ran a 3:47 in Chicago just after surgery, you'll be fine. Did you race today? How did it go? Yes, I'm in NYC for the fall. They have guaranteed entry for some time qualifications (marathon or 1/2). Girls our age need to run below a 1:37 for a half marathon and I ran a 1:36 in NY last August and then a 1:35 two weeks ago in Sarasota. They had to take me this time :) (I say that because I've been rejected from the NY marathon a total of about 5 times while every other runner in my community gets in on the first try). So anyway I'm excited about going, I love New York. I'm not planning on going to the pasta dinner in Boston but I was going to see if you wanted to somehow hook up in the athlete's village and hang out before the race. I'll be with my sister and another good friend and possibly my husband and his friend (if they decide to come back into my wave) so it will be fun. I didn't know if you were going to be out there alone or not and if you are you're welcome to hang out with us in Hopkinton. It would be fun to meet :) Why don't you shoot me an email and we'll figure something out.
