Im a rather slow and steady runner training for my 6th marathon. Due to weather, I've been doing all my long runs on the treadmill (I do love the "dreadmill" name!) I've felt since my first marathon that I'm working significantly harder on the treadmill to achieve my usual training pace. Thank you for confirming it. What I've also found is that when doing a lot of long runs indoors - my body is takes more of a beating once I return to the outdoors. I realize there is more cushion, etc. on the treadmill but I'm talking an extra day of recovery. Anyone else or is it just me?
