Hi, I've used creatine before. My understanding is that creatine provides greater benefits to athletes in power oriented sports where bursts are required. Things such as soccer, rugby .... There may be some benefit for examlpe in improving muscle recovery during interval training. Cramping is definitely an isuue. Wouldn't recommend it for marathon training.
