I am training for the Houston marathon on January 14, 2007. On December 14th I had to have two surgical procedures which have kept me from running since then. My longest run prior to surgery was 19 miles and took place on December 12th. I have been going to the Y and working out between 2-3 hours per day alternating between walking on the treadmill at 4.5 mph and the elliptical machine. I am unable to do repetitive arm motions right now. Mentally I am preparing myself for the fact that I may not be able to actually run again until race day. What advice, if any, do you have for me?
