Bloody urine for a marathoner is typically attributable to distance runs on an empty bladder -- and yes dehydration. Interestingly, frequent dehydration is also a rather common reason for the development of stones. So it would seem that both situations may be linked by insufficient hydration.
A few questions: Has your MD ever asked about your fluid intake? Do you take any prescription drug that may act as a diuretic? How many cups of coffee per day? Are you on a high protein diet?
The answer to these questions may offer insight to your bladder conditions.
