Chicago Marathon -- When kicked to the curb

I'm run/walking the Chicago Marathon his year. I've run/walked other marathons, but this is my first time at Chicago. My question is "when do they kick a slow guy like me to the curb." I always finish between 5:30 and 5:50. I've heard from one poster on another site that unless you can finish in under 4 hours, you will spend a lot of time running on sidewalks, some of them very crowded (e.g., China Town). Thanks for any replies in advance.
