I have been running for about 4 years. I initially started running to lose weight and get in shape. I'm 51 and staying in shape seems to be a real challenge. My husband is training with me to run my 2nd half marathon and he says I should stay away from drinks and foods high in carbs because of the calories. We're running 20-25 miles per/week and I usually like to drink Gatorade for refueling during and after my long runs. I figure if I'm running 8-12 miles, the electrolytes are giving me the energy boost I need to finish the long runs strong. Any advice would be appreciated.
