You're putting yourself through a training program that you've never done before. Give yourself a break. It's hard!!

Ever see pitchers in baseball getting "dead arm" during the season? Rookie NBA players who aren't used to the long NBA season compared to the college game?

The event you're training for isn't the only marathon you're running. Your training is a marathon also, not a sprint.

Now. Are you running in different places to make it interesting for yourself? How about what you're eating and drinking? Change your diet around. As far as gaining weight, it's possible you are slimming down, but adding muscle, which is heavier.

I can't tell you what to do, but I would rent some inspiring running movies about running, I'd find a spectacular place to run, I'd run in a local 5k or 10k, I wouldn't drink alcohol and I'd eat more fish. I'd listen to music while running or change the music I'm listening to.

You are doing something that a majority of people would never attempt. It's hard, but what you are feeling (the fatigue of this marathon training)is normal and you will get through it.

Finally - schedule yourself for a massage. It's a treat, but feels sooooo good.

Good luck.
