I'm surprised at the invective your note inspired. As the 51 year old veteran of the '05 and '06 MCMs who ran them in roughly 4.5 hours, I consider myself more of a penguin than a gazelle.
But I'm amazed by the large number of people at the MCMs who seem perfectly willing to ignore 2 policies that I consider simple politeness:
* Start in the corral reflecting your best estimate of your finishing time. * Try not to obstruct people who are moving faster than you are.
