I went through a year of IT band pain....the solution for me was stretching the band....using ice massage (get one of those plastic cups) and strengthening my quads (do alot of quad work)....AND I finally stopped runnning for 6 weeks to let the inflammation quiet down...
The good news is that I have run two marathons since....
