I am another F walker/penguin; began walking at age 61. In 2003, when I decided to walk my first marathon, I had nothing but encouragement from my runners club. The more experienced the runner the more encouraging. After the first 5 people cross the finish line, is anyone counting? I have completed the Pikes Peak Ascent in 5 hr 30 minutes five times. It's better than sitting on the couch. I probably train harder than the 3 hr marathoners, because I know I have to do so.
