Pre-baby, I had run 3 marathons, a 1/2 and several 5Ks. In fact, I ran a marathon 2 months before I found out I was preggo.

I had the baby in Nov 2004 and began running again in Jan 2005. It seemed to take forever to work up the mileage again and just like you mentioned, I really felt as if I was starting over! (I even jogged through the 1st 1/2 of my pregnancy.) I joined my regular marathon training group in July and really struggled as the mileage increase...I also seemed to have a hard time enduring the summer heat. Honestly, I think our bodies are just different after having a baby. Not in a bad way, but just different and it takes some getting used to.

But, I will tell you, it DOES get better! I ran my 1st post-pregnancy marathon in January and another in February! So, don't give up!!!

Now, I am trying to find the post marathon motivation again. :-)
