This is not from personal experience but through a friend who had this problem last winter. He would layer up similar to you and he had the same problem. He tried several of the same things and finally went to see a Doctor about it. It was recomended he use the same kind of lubricant (I personally would recomend Body Glide which you can get at any running store) and then the doctor actually recommended he use a protective athletic cup or a Jock strap. I'm a woman so I won't pretend to know how this helped but it did and he didn't have any more problems.
