The stairway to heaven analogy was correct. Hills, hills, and hills during the first 15 miles or so. The course was challenging - definitely not a BQ course. But it was interesting. Was an urban marathon - some nice parts of town, and some not quite as nice. Fan support was good. The city and the race director did an excellent job putting this race on - especially since this was the initial one. 6500 runners must have thought Baltimore would be a pretty good race because that's how many showed up to run.
