Hi Jill, your first marathon's goal should be to finish. So, no worries - you;ve done your best training and focus on running and enjoying what you're doing. Regarding tapering, there's usually a chapter on running books dedicated to it. I recommend that u read what you've got or go to a bookstore and browse there - eg Competitive Runner's Handbook. Good luck!
