While I did articulately state Bambi's point, I am one of the people that she ridicules. I do understand where she's coming from, however. As far as the expenses being covered, I remember at my first TTES meeting, we were told that every fundraising event, whether it's a marathon, a black-tie dinner, or some other event, has expenses and administrative costs and that there nothing unusual about a percentage of the funds raised going to cover those expenses. I'm not sure if I'm going to do another marathon or not (and if I do, it won't be for a few more years when I'm able to run a lot more of it). Right now, I've kind of coming to the conclusion that maybe running isn't for me, judging by the knee problems I get every time I try to mix some running into my walking workouts, so I think I'm going to find another sport.
