I think charity programs are very good . They help people to accomplish a goal and raise many dollars for great causes. The key word in the last sentence is GOAL ! The GOAL is to complete a marathon. To complete a marathon is an individual effort of 26.219 miles with NO outside assistance from any means. Anything less just cheapens the effort and the sport which we all love. For us BABY BOOMERS who have seen the advent of the designated hitter and playoff teams with less than .500 records it is necessary to protect the integrity of the sport of marathon running! KUDOS to the race director of the MCM.
